The Advanced International Master in Innovation Models (MIAMI), Own Master of the Complutense University of Madrid, with the support of Startify, more than 30 companies, incubators and accelerators, prepares students in Madrid and Miami to develop business projects from the idea until forming, financing and scaling a startup in the European and North American market.
From its first edition in October 2021, the MIAMI master will teach 369 contact hours (60 ECTS credits) at the headquarters of three universities in Spain and Florida (United States), as well as three incubators and accelerators and 32 companies in both countries. It has two investment role-plays both in Madrid and Miami, where students will have the opportunity to raise capital in front of international business angels. Likewise, they will be able to scale their projects with Santander clients within the framework of the Smart Lab project in collaboration with Barrabés.
The content of the program incorporates five exponential entrepreneurship courses from the 10xU Community of entrepreneurs in the United States, a total of 146 online classes, 20 webinars and 9 tools to develop their projects, which can be compared in Miami with Rokk3r. Likewise, the students, after developing a minimally viable product, will begin to test their projects on the Google Campus in Madrid and establish alliances and scale it up in visits and classes in different companies such as Amazon, the e-sports club Movistar Riders, Correos Labs, Singular Bank, ISS, Aquanima Grupo Santander or Banco Santander itself.
The development of MIAMI startup projects also has more than a hundred professors and mentors from companies such as Accenture, Google, the Madrid City Council, the Miami Heat, Novartis, AON, Global Incubator, the Mercado de la Reina, CRDO La Mancha, Hunger4Innovation, Fullstep, Ecovadis, KL2B, Sygris, Cubicarte, ESCOACHING, Ecovadis, Coverontrip, Hashing DNA, Money OAK, Palladium, Filmantropo or One Sotheby’s.
The master’s students will also be able to compare their projects with the cohorts of two of the main university accelerators of startups in the United States and apply the lean methodology and design thinking there with the help of their specialized mentors, with a view to avoiding the three main ones Causes of early corporate mortality: lack of product and market adequacy, lack of funding and lack of trained talent. The master culminates with the TFM that consists of the exhibition of their projects in the demo day of May 2022 in the UCM’s Hall of Degrees.
